Technical Director SHIMODA and Coach HALILHODZIC attend 1st AFC Conference for National Team Coaches

SHIMODA Masahiro, the Technical Director and Vahid HALILHODZIC, the coach, attended the “1st AFC Conference for National Team Coaches”, for which all the technical directors and the coaches from the Asian national teams gathered from 18 August to 20 August in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The participants had discussions from various perspectives under the theme of “what needs to be done to increase the level of Asian football in the world”. There was also a review of the 2015 AFC Asian Cup, which was held in Australia in January, by the AFC Technical Study Group.

During the conference, the coach Halilhodzic came on stage with the Chinese and Korean coaches, and expressed his opinion about what is necessary for the development of Asian football based on his own experience, while answering the interviewer’s questions.

The participants from every country communicated with each other well and had a productive time.

Vahid Halilhodzic, the coach, who returned to Japan on 20 August, will concentrate on getting ready for the coming qualifying round for the World Cup.

Coachs' Comment

Vahid HALILHODZIC, Coach of SAMURAI BLUE (Japan National Team)
I attended the “1st AFC Conference for National Team Coaches”. There were various discussions and many coaches expressed their opinions. I shared my opinion about Asian football, as well as how to develop it even more.

In the conference, we talked about the 2014 FIFA World Cup and also about the 2015 AFC Asian Cup. All the coaches exchanged their thoughts, and I felt each country wanted to achieve something enthusiastically.
