Japan Futsal National Team short-listed squad training camp report (10/5)

Japan Futsal National Team short-listed squad training camp started at the Teva Ocean Arena in Aichi prefecture on 5 October.

On the first day, the training started with stretching and running just like the previous training camps. After the running they had a passing exercise. Then the players was divided into two teams to have a mini-game with a condition which didn’t allow any form of shots except headers.

After the series of sessions which warmed-up the players enough, they checked the team’s set plays for the matches they will have from tomorrow. They had a total of 90 minutes training, but they got ready for the up-coming training matches.

The team’s Coach Miguel RODRIGO told the players, “It will be a simple schedule, you will have training matches against Kuwait Futsal National Team on both the 6th and the 7th. They have high ability, so I want all of you to have high motivation to play against them. ”

Players' Comments

SEKIGUCHI Yushi (ESPOLADA HOKKAIDO)
For the match against Kuwait tomorrow, we had good preparation in the sessions today. In the previous match against Malaysia, I personally couldn’t play well, so I will try my best to display my advantages in the coming matches against Kuwait. I look forward to many supporters’ coming to watch our play tomorrow and the day after.

TAKITA Manabu (PESCADOLA MACHIDA)
In the training today, we could review our set plays well. For the recent years, I have played against Kuwait as a squad player and I know that they are a very good team both in fitness and in tactics.

It is a precious opportunity for us to assume the AFC Futsal Championship more clearly, so we will unite well as a good team to make the training matches very effective for us.

SHIBANO Sota (VASAGEY OITA)
We have had light training sessions and checked our set plays. I will prepare myself very well for this training camp with training matches from tomorrow.
