Japan Beach Soccer National Team coach Marcelo MENDES holds clinic in Kumamoto

Marcelo MENDES, Coach of Japan Beach Soccer National Team, had his third beach soccer clinic of the year in Otachimisaki, Kumamoto Prefecture on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October.

On the first day, he gave a fun clinic for beginners such as elementary school students and women to let them learn the fundamentals of beach soccer. The participants played a game at the end. Children quickly became friends and were enjoying beach soccer with each other who had never played together before.

On the second day, the Japan coach instructed 20 Kyushu league players, offering more expertise such as skills and tactics. Although they play beach soccer on a regular basis, it was the first time for most of the players to have expert instruction. They apparently participated in the clinic earnestly.

Participant’s Comments

SHIMODA Kenji (Esperanca Kumamoto)
It was a short period of time, but the coach's passionate coaching and his expertise helped me for my future activities. I will incorporate the contents into my team's daily practice and keep up my work. The players from other teams were at a high level and showed their enthusiasm to develop themselves. My team and I will also try to get better like them in good rivalry.

NAGAGUCHI Tsuyoshi (Estate)
In this clinic, we were able to learn a lot from participants from other teams and coach Marcelo. After getting back to my team, I will share what I learned with my teammates who couldn't come and take advantage of the learning for the team development. If I get a chance like this again, I will definitely join again.

KOSASA Takumi (Rendir Fukuoka)
I became keenly aware of the importance of the individual fundamentals after hearing that the national team also hold fundamental training like scooping and passing skills even in their short training. I will definitely spend more time for skill training. I will also take back the learning to my team and take advantage of it for the development of myself and my teammates.
