Auckland City FC arrive in Japan for the FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2015 on 10 December

One week to go to the FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2015 which kicks off on 10 December. Auckland City FC (New Zealand/ Oceania Football Confederation delegate) arrived in Japan and this is the first one of all the teams to arrive. The players of the team were divided into smaller groups and arrived on either 2nd or 3rd of December.

All flights arrived in the early morning and they looked quite tired. However, they expressed their high motivation: "We will play up to the same as last year’s result, third place." The players who arrived on 2nd had training in the same afternoon to adjust their condition.

Auckland City FC is playing in this FIFA Club World Cup for the 7th time and has joined so far for 5 consecutive years. The team will play against the J1 League champion and this will be held in the International Stadium Yokohama as the opening match of the competition.

Coach and Players' Comments

Ramon TRIBULIETX, Coach
In Japan, we want to make a better result than the last time by beating as many as teams. We have not beaten Japanese teams yet, so the first match will be a tough one for us. We will do our best to prepare for the match.

DF #9  Darren WHITE
It was a long journey but I am happy that we can join in this Club World Cup again in Japan. We are on the starting line now, so we will just keep training for the first match. Please support us.

DF #3  IWATA Takuya
I was checking the result of the J. League Championship in Hong Kong where we had a stopover. Sanfrecce Hiroshima will go for the final and I remember the match we lost against them in 2012. If we had any chance to play against them again in this opportunity, we want to get revenge. Our result of the Club World Cup last year was third place. We want to show a good level of play as a team and as individual players this time, too. We also want to express that we have even grown up since last time.

FW #14  Clayton LEWIS
This is my first time to join in the FIFA Club World Cup, so I am very excited. The remainder of my teammates will arrive in the afternoon tomorrow, we want to get ready well adjusting our conditions. We will do our best to stay in this competition as long as possible.
