Coach and Players' Comments

UCHIYAMA Atsushi, Coach
This trip was the last activity of this year. Although we wanted to finish it with a positive result for the next year, we couldn’t win the practice games. There were a few newcomers in this camp. I hope the players stay competitive to stay in the team for the coming AFC U-19 Championship next year. Also I’d like this team, including the players and the staff, to become more united, always thinking of the AFC U-19 Championship.

NAKAYAMA Yuta (Kashiwa Reysol)
It was the first activity after the qualifiers for the AFC U-19 Championship. Although it was only a four-day training camp, I believe we found tasks as a team as well as for individuals. We saw them even more clearly through two practice games. I realised what we really needed – always stay ambitious to reach a higher-level and play football. We will move on to the next step for the AFC U-19 Championship. I will never be satisfied with the current level, and practice hard to improve myself.

MORISHIMA Tsukasa (Yokkaichi Chuo Technical High School)
This trip was only a short four days short. Although I really wanted to finish this camp with a positive result, unfortunately we lost the match 2-1. We didn’t have enough strength to win a close game. I’ll practice hard to improve myself, so that I will be chosen for the national team again.

OSAKO Keisuke (Sanfrecce Hiroshima Youth)
I was looking forward to this trip, while feeling a little nervous, as we’d play against players several years older. I tried to communicate with others off the pitch, during mealtimes for example. On the pitch, I tried hard to lead the team as a goalkeeper regardless of school year, and also to display my strengths as well as work on my weaknesses. I learned a lot about goal-saving preparation techniques. I’d like to bring back what I have learned during this camp for my football life.

OGAWA Koki (Toko Gakuen High School)
I found many problems in today’s match against Ryutsu Keizai University. As the opponent kept possession for a long while, we couldn’t play as we wanted. Personally, I couldn’t display my scoring ability, despite many goal-scoring opportunities. I’d like to work on the tasks, which I found during this camp, so that I can improve myself.
