Japan National Team short-listed squad go through two-a-day tactical training

Japan National Team short-listed squad go through two-a-day tactical training

Japan National Team's short-listed squad had the second day of their training camp in the morning and the afternoon.

In the morning, the squad mainly worked on defensive tactics, continuing on their training on the previous day. Coach HALILHODZIC's instruction covered details including distance between players. While he required concentration from the players, the training was lively until the end of the day.

In the afternoon, the short-listed squad went through attacking tactics under Halilhodzic, who moved around on the pitch and kept giving instructions with energy just like the defensive training in the morning. Halilhodzic's style of football, with uptempo movement by the ball and players, was well displayed on the pitch.

The camp will be wrapped up with training to be held on the morning of 9 March.

Players' Comments

HAYASHI Akihiro (Sagan Tosu)
Through the previous activity with the national team, I felt I still had a lot to improve and have kept on practising with that in mind since then. Even so, I found out something I consider far from perfection, so I will continue to be further aware of that and work on daily training. If your goalkeeper is not good, your team won't be good. To be the core part of the team, I will work hard with other goalkeepers.

NAGAKI Ryota (Kashima Antlers)
I took part in an activity like this for the first time in my football life. Since I started my pro career, I was always eyeing such a stage and called up here all of a sudden. But I've been preparing for it whenever I could go out. I just joined today's training, but I believe I could get into it smoothly. Maybe because there is a similarity between my style of play and the one the team aim at, the coach put value on my work. I want to synchronise my strength with what the team aim at and head in a right direction. I will be conscious of what I was required in this camp and first play my game for Kashima Antlers. Unless I get a starting position and turn in results, I won't get called up. I will work hard to be called up again.
