Japan Futsal National Team hold two training sessions in preparation for game against Vietnam

The second day of the Japan Futsal National Team’s training camp on Wednesday 20 April saw two practice sessions. In the morning, the players passed the ball around to loosen up, which was followed by a training match. The coach KOGURE Kenichiro told the players to communicate with each other, while instructing them to attack the opponent’s goal with fewer touches. The players stayed vocal to improve their combinations, with the match in mind.

In the afternoon, the players started with some core training and moved onto a 3-on-1 practice. They focused on how quickly they could initiate attacks with a numerical advantage in order to take shots. During a practice game, the players showed their commitment and determination, and got ready for the match against Vietnam on Friday 22 April.

The team held a meeting after supper to go through videos of their training sessions from the first day of the camp. The players learned once again how the coach Kogure wants them to play.

Players' Comments

FP #14  NISHITANI Ryosuke (FUGADOR SUMIDA)
We had the second day of our training camp, and I could communicate with others in detail on and off the pitch in preparation for the coming match. We held practice sessions in a good atmosphere. Despite the short time, I’d like to prepare as much as possible to play my hardest, so that the new Japan Futsal National Team can take the first step by getting a good result.

FP #13  SHIBANO Sota (VASAGEY OITA)
It’s been two days since our camp started. Although it’s been tough, I think we have been holding high-quality practice sessions in a good atmosphere. I’d like to keep up the atmosphere, so that we do enough to perform well in the coming friendly.

GK #2  PIRES Higor (PESCADOLA MACHIDA)
I’m over the moon to join the Japan National Team for the first time. As a national team player, I’m very eager to win a game and aim to play well internationally with my teammates. To become one of the top teams in Asia as well as book a place in the 2020 Futsal World Cup, I’d like to make a good start.
