U-19 Japan squad check their tactics for their international friendly against UAE

The U-19 Japan National Team had training from 19:00 on Tuesday 6 September for their upcoming international friendly against the UAE tomorrow. In the practical, game-style session, the players’ concentration was even higher than the previous day, reacting to loose balls quickly.

Before their practice, they had a meeting where they watched video footage and checked their set plays. After this, the entire squad watched online the Japan-Thailand match, which was for the Final Asian Qualifiers (Road to Russia) for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. All of them were delighted when Japan scored goals.

U-19 Japan National Team’s next international friendly will kick off at 17:45 in AL-SHABAB FOOTBALL CLUB.

DF #2 FUJITANI So (Vissel Kobe)
Today we shared the team’s concept amongst us for the international friendly tomorrow. Our quality in both defense and offense has been improving, so hopefully we can maintain this condition. Now, we have limited time until the Final Qualifier (AFC U-19 Championship), hence we have to make the most of each match that we have. For tomorrow, I will prepare to our best and contribute to the team’s victory.

MF #8 MIYOSHI Koji (Kawasaki Frontale)
While our environment changed from France to the UAE, our condition as a team has been good. We are ready for the final match of our international friendlies. Today we watched the SAMURAI BLUE’s match online and I learned what to do against Asian teams. The match against the UAE tomorrow will be a very important simulation for us before the Final Qualifier, so I will play with a strong mentality. This is my first time after a long time to play in the national squad. So far, I’ve been able to fill my mind with positive thoughts. I hope I can continue thnking positively and improve my play even more before ending this trip.

FW #20 IWASAKI Yuto (Kyoto Tachibana High School)
This is nearly the end of our trip after visiting France. Today we watched the match of SAMURAI BLUE before our training. Japanese players couldn’t score well even though they had many chances and allowed Thai players to attack through their own mistakes. I felt that we share the same issues as the Japan National Team. To fix these, we have to work even harder to achieve positive results, while improving our accuracy of plays. In the training we thoroughly checked on things we should do tomorrow, while maintaining a high level of concentration. The match against the UAE tomorrow is the important wrap-up activity of our trip, so we will play to our best and get the victory.
