Japan Beach Soccer National Team launch their training for the International Friendly

On 13 September, Japan Beach Soccer National Team launched their activities to prepare for the International Friendly, which will be held on 17 and 18 of September in Akashi, Hyogo.

The team will have a longer period of activities which will be for 3 weeks including the International Friendly against the Tahiti Beach Soccer National Team, and the 5th Asian Beach Games in Vietnam.

The team members met up in their accommodation in the previous evening, and they started their two-a-day training from this morning.

In the morning, they had a series of sessions under the slight rainy weather, focusing on physical training to improve their conditioning. After warming up, the team’s coach, Marcelo MENDES, lead these sessions, using various tools such as cones and ladders and made a grid for the players to work on physical exercises like dashing and jumping.

In the afternoon the team spent most of the time playing five-a-side games after practicing basic techniques and shooting exercises.

In the intra-squad scrimmage, they mainly checked their tactics in defence. Coach Marcelo stopped the players during the game to explain their tactics in detail and the players also communicated well amongst each other.

In the meeting at night, they checked their objectives for the up-coming international friendly matches and the Asian Beach Games. They also talked about the tactics that they had checked during the practical sessions earlier in the day to promote their mutual understanding.

On 14 September, they will have two-a-day training sessions, one in the morning and another in the afternoon, to get ready for the match against Tahiti.

Players' Comments

FP #3 HARAGUCHI Shotaro (Inter Japan BS)
The international friendly matches against Tahiti Beach Soccer National Team are coming up soon; I was waiting for this opportunity. First, we will work hard in the training to improve our conditioning for these matches. Then, we will improve the issues found in last month’s tour in China to ensure that we play well in these up-coming international friendlies. Lastly, we will make the best possible preparation and head to the Asian Beach Games with confidence.

FP #5 NAKAHARA Yuki (Aveldage Kumamoto BS)
For the 2 consecutive International Friendly matches this weekend, we have started the important camp today. To start the day, we had hard-working sessions such as physical training, shooting exercises, and internal games. In the afternoon ,we checked our tactics in the intra-squad scrimmage.

Personally, I have only watched Tahiti’s play through video footage. As far as I know, they are high-leveled players in terms of tactics and technique, hence I am excited to play against them. I will do my best in the training sessions to attain positive results and contribute to the team’s victory in front of our supporters.
