Japan Beach Soccer National Team’s activity report at the Asian Beach Games

After the friendlies against the Tahiti national team on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September, the Japan Beach Soccer National Team left Kansai International Airport the following morning for Danang, Vietnam in order to participate in the Asian Beach Games.

The team arrived in Danang at 7:00 in the evening after an eight-hour journey. They had dinner at the hotel before going to bed.

The following morning, on Tuesday 20 September, the team did some light exercises on the beach near the hotel, including running and foot volleyball, under the blazing sun with temperatures over 30 degrees, so that they could get in good condition.

In the afternoon, the team moved to the pitch, which will be used in the coming Asian Beach Games. They started with a mini-game on a half-length pitch, followed by a five-a-side game on a full pitch to go through their tactics.

The players will continue training in preparation for the first game against Afghanistan on Sunday 25 September.

FP #11 GOTO Takasuke (Fusion)
I’m really excited to have an opportunity to avenge our defeat in the final of the previous championship. As I’ve been practicing very hard for the last two years, I cannot wait to play the coming games. I’m determined to win the championship this time. We are having wonderful meals in Danang, Vietnam. In addition, our hotel, as well as the beach, are in excellent condition, allowing us to prepare for the matches in a great environment. With five days before the tournament, I’d like to make the best of every day to perform excellently in the championship.

FP #6 MATSUO Naoya (Aveldage Kumamoto BS)
After getting good results in the friendlies, we flew to Vietnam yesterday. We started our practice sessions today. We focused on light exercises in the morning, such as foot volleyball, to recover from our journey. We stayed relaxed. In the afternoon, we held a normal training session. I could concentrate and practiced well, as I didn’t feel too tired. As the temperature is really high here unlike Japan, I believe it’s vital to get used to this environment in order to win the championship. Since we still have time before the first game, I’d like to get myself in good condition.
