Japanese Instructor Mr. IJIRI Akira newly dispatched to Vietnam

In efforts to support the development of football in Asia, the Japan Football Association (JFA) has been dispatching instructors to many regions of Asia. Most recently, Mr. IJIRI Akira has been dispatched to Vietnam to serve as the coach of U-16/U-19 Vietnam Women's National Team, as well as the technical advisor of the Women's National Team to support the development of women’s football in Vietnam.

Instructor’s Comment

Mr. IJIRI Akira
I have been appointed as the coach of U-16/U-19 Women's National Team, as well as the technical advisor of the Women's National Team. Football is a very popular sport in Vietnam and the Men's National Team is very popular and supported by many enthusiastic fans all around the nation. However, women’s football is little known in the country and has very limited player population. The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has been working to see more recognition for the women’s team, just like the men’s team. I will be deeply involved with the Women's National Teams and will do my best to strengthen and develop the players, train the coaches, and spread recognition of women’s football. Along with the members of VFF, General Secretary Mr. Le Hoai Anh, and the local staffs, I will give my utmost efforts to improve the overall level of women’s football in Vietnam.
