Kids Traveling Guidance Report (July)

With the support of the Kids committees of each prefectural football association (FA), JFA has been holding “Traveling guidance” courses throughout the nation. The courses are held by the “Traveling guidance staffs” of each prefectural FA, where the staffs attend kindergartens, nurseries, and primary schools to provide various programmes for children to enjoy football. Joined by guidance staffs who specialise in coaching football, teachers who may not have the experience or knowledge to instruct football, are enabled to hold sessions to allow the children to exercise using the ball. Here we will introduce the traveling guidance activities that were recently conducted.

Tue. 13 July, Kawaguchi Nursery School(Fujikawaguchiko, Yamanashi)

The football class was held for 13 five year-old children. The participating children showed great enthusiasm to work on each drill as the coaches taught them the importance to work hard and the joy of achieving a goal. In addition, the children were given the freedom to think and act on the menu that were presented, and the children showed great growth even in a short period of time.

Coaches and Teacher's Comments

HASHIZUME Yuki (FA Traveling Guidance Staff)
The purpose of the activity was to “challenge without giving up, even when we make mistakes.” So, we encouraged the children to actively make challenges throughout the course. We saw some children crying when making mistakes or giving up before even trying, but as we repeated the drills, they got better and started to successfully complete the drills. I was happy to hear the participating children wanting to play more when the class came to an end.

INOUE Yuki (FA Traveling Guidance Staff)
The children listened and followed the instructions of the coaches. I hope they were able to experience the joy of challenging new things and accomplishing a goal. As time progressed, the participating children started to help each other out and built a very positive atmosphere. We concluded the class with a scrimmage, in which the children showed great enthusiasm when scoring a goal.

SHIRASU Yuki, Teacher
The coaches implemented lots of humour to the drills, which allowed the children to have fun until the very end. Even the children who have trouble listening to other people were listening close to the coaches. Thank you for holding this football class.
