Coach and Players' Comments
OKAMOTO Miyo, Head Coach of Thailand Women's National Team
We held an 11-day training camp at J-GREEN Sakai to prepare for the forthcoming Play-Off Tournament for the FIFA Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™ in February. The team was greatly moved and inspired by the cultural differences and forced to revaluate their views on football after experiencing first-hand the top-tier Asian football environment in Japan. We prepared for the three training matches by simulating the Play-Offs, and although we tried our best, the players struggled to adapt to the cold weather in Japan and were unable to play to their full potential, which was a very important lesson to learn ahead of the Play-Offs. We are very grateful to Speranza Osaka, Okayama Yunogo Belle, and Cerezo Osaka Sakai Ladies for this valuable opportunity. The Thailand Women's National Team would also like to thank JFA and J-GREEN Sakai for their generous support in organising this camp.
Nipawan PANYOSUK
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to JFA for their generous support in organising this camp in Japan. We spent 11 days in a wonderful environment with excellent food, accommodation, and training facilities. During the camp we also played three training matches against Japanese women's teams, which served as a reminder that we still have a lot of work to do. We also had the opportunity to watch a WE League match between INAC Kobe Leonessa and AC Nagano Parceiro Ladies on 25 December, which opened our eyes to the high level of women's football in Japan. In order to accomplish the team's goal of qualifying for the World Cup, we will make the most of the experience gained during this camp in Japan and prepare for the inter-confederation play-offs to be held in February. We'll undoubtedly give it our all to succeed in our mission.
Irravadee MAKRIS
We are incredibly grateful for the assistance JFA has given to our team. It was a wonderful opportunity for the team to experience the Japanese football culture and we hope to make the most of what we saw here in the play-offs. We would like to thank JFA once again for their support in organising this camp. The team and I both sincerely appreciate everything they have done.
