In efforts to support the development of football in Asia, Japan Football Association (JFA) has been dispatching instructors to many regions of Asia. Most recently, Mr. ASAOKA Ryuzo was dispatched to Chengdu, China, where he will serve as head coach of U-18 Chengdu Football Association Youth Academy.

We believe that with the collaboration with JFA, the youth development of Chengdu Football Association and of Chengdu City would have strong support. We believe that Mr. Asaoka will deliver a good lead to his team and show a positive influence on his coaching staff. His coming will be an opportunity for development for the players and for the coaching staff. We hope that Mr. Asaoka, together with Mr. Amano will go on giving technical suggestions and guidance with regard to the player and coach evaluation, competition and technical structure, etc. We wish and have confidence that Mr. Asaoko would have a good stay in Chengdu and enjoy his life in Chengdu.

I am very excited to be appointed as Head Coach of U-18 Chengdu Football Association Youth Academy, but at the same time, I am also humbled by the weight of responsibility. I also want to express my gratitude to JFA and Chengdu Football Association representatives for their efforts in making my dispatch possible. I will learn about the local culture, history, and traditions, while also making conscious efforts to think, grow, and work together with my peers to develop a trusting relationship, so that I can become a member of “TEAM Chengdu.” I will do everything in my power to contribute to the growth and development of Chengdu Football Association with an open mind and a spirit of respect.
