JFA official class C coach development training held in Thailand
02 December 2014
JFA official class C coach development training was held in Thailand where many Japanese players are playing professionally recent years. Total of 17 persons including ten Thai coaches recommended by Thai Football Association, five Japanese instructors and two active Japanese players attended the course. JFA instructor WAKASUGI Toru ran eight day course and the participants learned and practiced energetically through lectures and practical coaching training.
This training is part of the arts and cultural exchange programme for ASEAN-member countries, which is supported by the Japan Foundation Asia Center. The Japan Foundation Asia Center creates opportunities to exchange art and culture between Japan and other Asian countries under the slogan of ‘WA Project: Toward Interactive Asia’, co-hosting many events with other organisation such as JFA.
Instructor Comment
Mr. WAKASUGI Toru
Following the training in Singapore last year, I am pleased to be an instructor for class C training in Thailand again. Participants had an active discussion because of higher motivation and commitment of participants than last year. I was really impressed with all the participants got together, regardless of Japanese or Thai, to try to get something out of the training. I realized the training was significant event for international exchange in addition to development and proliferation of Japan coaching license system when I see many participants shed a tear and said they were happy to meet colleague who has the same dream. If there is an opportunity like this time, I would be happy to be an instructor again in the future.

Mr. MAMADSA-ARD LAEMUMEEN
Having attended many coaching trainings before, I was surprised to find such high quality training unlike previous ones. Especially, Instructor Mr.Wakasugi’s passion and coaching in detail were just wonderful. I realized it is important to develop young generation coaches by praising them rather than just giving intensity on them. Coaches in Thailand tend to impose their instructions on player but this training made me realize we can develop a good player if a coach has a basic knowledge and theory and give them decent advice. I was really glad to participate in this training and look forward to attending the similar course in the future. Thank you very much.
Mr. NAKATANI Yusuke
Thank you very much for giving me this wonderful opportunity. Being an active player, I was thinking how should I move from player’s point of view but I realized how difficult it is to teach and communicate from coach’s point of view. Taking class C coach development training while I am still active player, it seems to me this will allow me to play better in quality. Honestly speaking, I was bit reluctant to take a coaching license because I wanted to focus on play. I regret I should have started earlier.
Mr. KATANO Hiromichi
Although I am still active player but I was glad to know class C coach training is held in Thailand as I am planning to become a coach in the future. I suppose we could develop ourselves by giving positive feedbacks one another, working not only with Japanese but also Thai people. Having tried a practical coaching training and wondering how to tell players, I think I became able to see football from much wider point of view. Mr.Wakasugi gave me praise for doing better quality than first day. I want to participate in class B coach training if there is one organized in Thailand.
