Coach and Players' Comments
NISHIGAYA Takayuki, Head Coach of Singapore National Team
We were able to successfully complete our 12-day training camp in Chiba. I would like to thank everyone who helped make this camp possible because the Singapore National Team have improved greatly as a result of being able to train in such a wonderful training environment for an extensive period of time.
The facilities we were able to use, including the Prince Takamado Memorial JFA YUME Field, were excellent. The players were highly motivated to play on such well-maintained natural grass pitches. Since our camp took place during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, we were able to witness the remarkable performance showcased by the Japan National Team. I believe that the players found it to be very stimulating to train at the facility used by the Japan National Team. It was also a valuable opportunity for me to observe the training environment of the Japan National Team, who are the leading force in Asian football. We hope that the Singapore National Team will process and learn from this experience, and continue to make progress one step at a time, as we head into the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2022. We will do our best so that we can deliver good news to you all.
Last but not least, I want to express my gratitude to JFA and everyone who helped organise this camp. We were able to carry out our team activities without any issues, thanks to all the detailed support and scheduling arrangements provided to us. Thank you very much.

The training fields and facilities we used during this camp were excellent, and the meals served at the hotel were delicious. We were able to utilise the first-rate facilities to the fullest, which made the camp extremely productive since we do not have training fields or facilities of this calibre in Singapore. The training matches, in my opinion, went well because everyone did their part to contribute to the team. The training matches against Y.S.C.C. Yokohama and Ryutsu Keizai University were a good test for the Singapore National Team.

The training environment provided at this camp in Japan was excellent. The facilities were particularly impressive. We, the Singapore National Team, are preparing for the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2022, which is a big tournament for us, and the fact that we were able to train in such a wonderful environment, weather, and facilities will certainly benefit us in our preparation for the tournament. We are very appreciative to be here, and we hope that our time here will help us succeed in the tournament. We were unable to produce positive results in the training matches, so I believe we need to evaluate our performance from a variety of perspectives. In order to select the players for the tournament, the coach gave each player a chance to play for 30 to 45 minutes. All the players gave it their all, but there's always room for improvement in football, so we'll try to make the most of this opportunity to develop as players.
Accepting teams from AFC Member Associations to hold training camps in Japan
