In efforts to support the development of football in Asia, Japan Football Association (JFA) has been dispatching instructors to many regions of Asia. Most recently, Mr. KOSHIDA Takeshi was dispatched to Vietnam, where he will serve as Technical Director of the Vietnam Football Federation.

I have been appointed as Technical Director of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) as of 1 June 2023. As you may know, former Japan National Team head coach Mr Philippe TROUSSIER has been appointed as the new head coach of the Vietnam National Team, while the Vietnam Women's National Team is set to compete for the first time in the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™ in July.

Vietnam has been one of the ASEAN nations that has progressively improved in both men's and women's football in recent years, and the Vietnamese people have been ardent supporters of both national teams. I am responsible for strengthening the national team, developing the youth age group, and coach education, with the main focus on coach education. We will organise coach training courses for A~C licences to train a large number of Vietnamese coaches as part of our efforts to become a dominant force in ASEAN and Asia.

I would like to thank Dr. TRAN, President of the VFF, Mr. KHOI, General Secretary, Ms. HA, Deputy General Secretary, and Mr. HOANG, Coach Education Department, for their support during this appointment. I was also able to make this trip without any worries thanks to the assistance of Mr. IJIRI Akira, Head of Women's Football and Head Coach of Youth Women's National Teams, who was dispatched to Vietnam five years before me. I will make every effort for the development of Vietnamese football.
