Comments by Head Coach and Players
HIWATASHI Gun(Head Coach,U-18 Women’s Team)
We are adding new concept to our repertoire of setting up attacks. We will polish it better throughout the season.
JFA Academy Fukushima has junior high school players and high school players. We have to play collectively against players who are taller, bigger, stronger and faster than us. But that is exactly what players of these age categories need in order to acquire skills and strategies that they can take advantage of in their future careers. I would like many people to keep watching how these girls improve to carry Japan’s future.
MIZUTANI Yuki(The class of programme’s 4th year)
The goal we had for this opening match was to win no matter what and to attack their goal just as we have practiced. We could attack just like that, but we couldn’t finish it with a goal, and we lost the game 2-3. We lost today’s game, but it’s still the beginning of the season. We don’t worry too much about today’s loss, we start thinking about next game to win it, and then we keep practicing. Our goal for this season is to finish at 4th or higher in the ranking. We will take one game at a time and try to find our improvements and assignments in every game so that this team will be able to play to our potential. We will work hard to achieve our goal.
