JFA Academy Fukushima players take 1st communication skill training this year.
16 April 2014
On Saturday 12th April, the first communication skill training of this year was given to players at JFA Academy Fukushima. The series of communication skill trainings is aimed to let players develop their logical thinking and analysing skill by training four basic functions of the language; listening, speaking, reading and writing. Players mainly worked in this session on “MONDOU Game” where a question was given and players try to give logical answers, and “SAIWA” program where players learn how to summarise a given story.

OHINATA Momoki, Tsukuba Language Arts Institute
My language skill classes are based on the “Players First” spirit. In class players work on MONDOU Game, SAIWA, analysing images and texts and basic structure of paragraphs, which are beneficial for players’ improvements of communication and situation analysis as well as helpful when they answer questions during the interviews.
Players Comments
SAKAI Tomoro (7th term)
What I remember most now out of this class is MONDOU Game. The topic was that if we agree or disagree with a strict veteran-rookie relationship between older players and younger players. I was in a group that agreed, but we thought over the reasons why. It was very difficult to give a deep thought to things I usually don’t care so much. But I have taken these lesson since when I was in the first grade of junior high school, so little by little I have gotten better in coming up with some idea. I want to make use of this communication skill not only for football but also in my daily life.
GOTO Daiki (7th term)
In today’s class, we did MONDOU Game and SAIWA. I thought SAIWA was more important. I think you can’t practice it without paying good attention to what other people say. We listen to many people in our life. So I want to take advantage of what we learned in class. Football coaches and school teachers don’t repeat the same things many times. I want to improve the skill to understand what people say only after I listen to them once. And I will take good care of communications I have with my teammates and friends in school.
TOMIOKA Chihiro (9th term)
We had the first communication skill training today. This time had MONDOU Game and SAIWA. SAIWA was more difficult, especially taking notes of important parts of the stories. I sometimes forgot putting subjects in my sentences, so I will pay attention to it and keep working on it.
