Canon Girls Camp starts at J-GREEN Sakai today
16 May 2014
The JFA Elite Program Women’s’ U-13 starts its first training camp in this year from Friday 16 May to Tuesday 20 at J-Green Sakai.
Beginning this year, backed by Canon Inc. and renamed as the “Canon Girls Camp” the camp has expanded its size and quality now with 58 first-graders in junior high schools, 48 field players and 9 goal keepers, from nine regions in the country staying together for four nights and five days. The new feature is a two-day coaches training for U-15 and U-12 teams’ staff at women’s regional training centres, which is designed to strengthen the understanding of the JFA’s elite program and to develop better partnerships with those regional training centres.
The National Training Centre also has all of its women’s team coaches on sight to provide training to participating players and coaches. The Canon Girls Camp has just begun today with a team of 100!

OBE Yumi, Coach
Supposedly all participating players are dreaming about “being one of Nadeshiko Japan, and flourishing with Nadeshiko Japan.” There are so many tips in this Elite Program camp regarding how to be one of Nadeshiko Japan and how to show your strength. It’s all about being aware of your strength and weakness and knowing your teammates and rivals. I want them to take advantage of this opportunity to start and keep working for their dream. All of them just started their junior high school, and now they are participating in this camp. They must be nervous and anxious, but I want all of them not to be afraid of mistakes and to keep trying.
