Japan Beach Football Coach Mendes holds third clinic in Okinawa
24 May 2014
Japan national beach football head coach Marcelo Mendes held a clinic at Tropical Beach in Okinawa Prefecture for two days from Wed, 21 to Thurs, 22 May.
This time was third one after those in Tokyo and Kumamoto, having 13 participants of players and coaches in Okinawa. They listened actively to Mr Mandes's lecture with enthusiasm.
The first day was started with a film session to watch the films from the national team's training camp and the world cup, then the lecture on fundamental skills, strategies and positions was given. After that, participants moved to skill practices on the beach, working on menus including some fundamental moves like passing floating balls and shooting practices as well as physical training with balls.
On the second day, the lecture on strategies was mainly given, followed by practices on the beach. All participants kept running actively, following instructions from Mr Mandes even in the menu requiring great hard works.
Comments from Participants
SAMEJIMA Daiki (FC URUMA)
Very comprehensible contents of the clinic made me to learn a lot. All players from Sol Mar Praia are so high level that I actually learn much from them I played with together.
I hope to use this experience for my future play.
ASAMI Kazumasa (Sol Mar Praia)
I got a great experience to learn Japan national team's strategy and training methods or system logic of world-leading players and this experience motivated me very much to play in the world.
I think again that I need to improve all things including my own skills as well as understandings of the strategy. I will try to prepare for training with great efforts in my team as well.
ARAZATO Yuya (FC URUMA)
This clinic gave me a very good opportunity to touch on very comprehensible contents. I could get immediate answers to my every question, not leaving things unknown. I leaned a lot from practices such as physical training with balls, which I have not done in regular practices.
The menu was composed of lectures and following practices so I could understand very deeply as I practiced unsure parts of what I learned from lecture right after the session.
KAWAI Yusuke (Sol Mar Praia)
It was very valuable experience for me to watch the films on national team's training which I rarely had the opportunity to watch. I am very happy to see increasing number of dedicated beach football players by holding these kinds of clinics around Japan. The explanation including mixture of footages and pictures was also very meaningful.
ARAKAKI Takashi (Sol Mar Praia)
I got good experiences such as exchanges with other teams. I will feed back what I learnt from this clinic to my team, trying to raise our level. Lectures on a lot of training menu made me realize that Mr Mendes has great knowledges and experiences. I hope that holding this kind of clinic around Japan will promote or develop beach football in this country.
