Comments
IKEUCHI Yutaka, Head Coach
Players interacted with Korean players of the same generation and learned various things on and off the pitch. Then they reviewed their own individual assignments. We also had opportunities to play high-level games against the Korean team and Academy Fukushima. I hope they take advantage of what they experienced here and grow further. Both Japan and Korea players promised each other to grow and play against each other once again in the future
As a typhoon was heading here, we were worried if the camp was going to be held, but we all finished up without trouble. I’d like to give my appreciation to people who were concerned and team staff who sent off their players to us.
SHIGA Kazuma (Kashiwa Reysol U-15)
This was my first training camp to join. I kept it in mind to improve my strengths, “towering header” and “coaching” and tried to turn my weaknesses to specialties like “well-timed shot,” “build-up” and “positioning.” After I was told by the coach to get prepared earlier for “well-timed shot,” I tried to follow the advice, and then I could start making it. But I still have trouble getting it through in real games, so I want to improve it from now on.
In terms of the off-the-pitch attitude, we were told about “cooperating with each other,” “helping each other” and “solving your own issues by yourselves,” but we couldn’t spend our time precisely cooperating with each other.
I will face new things I learned, new assignments, what improved and what got worse during this camp, and hopefully I can overcome them even little by little.
HIGUCHI Kenta (Miyazaki Nihon University Junior High School)
At the first camp like this to me, I found pressure and physical strength that we hardly experience in Japan when we played against Korea Selection Team. In the practice sessions, I tried to improve my strengths that I couldn’t take advantage of in the match against Korea. Even if I could improve them in the practice, I felt it was difficult to get it through in the real game. I found in defence we need to try to get the ball with other players and keep being tenacious, and in offence, we need to keep composed when it comes to finishing.
I think it’s important to judge by ourselves and act with self-analysis both on and off the pitch. I will utilise what I learned in this camp in my future life and practices.
KAWASAKI Shuhei (Gamba Osaka Junior Youth)
In this camp I learned what we are supposed to do both on and off the pitch.
I tried to have good meal every time and keep everything organised off the pitch. I will try to follow these life lessons anytime and anywhere.
It was my first time to play against Korea, and we got a complete 0-7 defeat. I really found how much I’m not good enough. I’m very disappointed and ashamed. In the second game, we had some improvements, but lost 0-2. The outcome is still very disappointing. Though we lost both games to Korea, I’ve got great experience that I wouldn’t experience in other occasions.
I’m not going to forget what I learned at this camp and definitely want to develop myself from now on.
