HASHIKAWA Kazuaki, Coach
We made adjustments after the first match and tried to improve in the areas of “adjusting the direction you face and making sure of a good vision” and “keeping your good positions according to the teammate with the ball”. We tried to get better on individual skills. As we spent a lot of time for it, we didn’t’ work on our team strategy at all. But naturally our players started maintaining good distance between them and playing better together. That made me realise again how important individual skills are and how much these 13-year olds can learn in a short period of time. But the fact that we couldn’t get a goal is the area we have to keep working on. We need to make sure we have enough space around by looking out for your teammates, and we also need to utilise that space. We have to adjust our plays at the right time according to the opposition’s changes, and we always work hard and play for better skills and techniques.
MATSUDA Eitaro (Yokohama F・Marinos Junior Youth Oppama)
In this Elite Program practice, the focal points were paying attention to different angles of plays, being careful of what’s happening behind us, and making sure what the player with the ball and other teammates are doing. At first I couldn’t do well watching out for others and moving at the same time. But as I practiced, I got better and better. I want to thank everybody for letting me participate in this Elite Program. I want to take what I learned here back to my team and make use of it to get better.
YACHIDA Teppei (Nagaoak Junior Youth Football Club)
In this Elite Program, I tried to work in practice and match as I paid more attention to receiving the ball without stopping moving and creating good angles for plays. In the first match, I could do what I wanted to do, but my positioning in defence was not good. So I could improve that in the second match, and we could keep the opponents from attacking how they wanted to attack. I will take advantage of what I learned in this camp in my future on and off the pitch.
