Girls goal keepers camp kick off with 20 members

"Girls goal keepers camp" formerly known as "Super girls project" has kicked off its second training camp since it's changed its name to the current one at Shimizu National Training Centre, dubbed J-Step. A total of 10 of the Under-18 generation and 10 sixth-graders, who will be junior high school students in April, have participated in it this time. Because the elementary school players will be junior high school students next month, they train with the same-sized pitch and goal and No. 5-sized ball as the senior players.

All of them warmed up all together. The elementary school players, who joined the camp for the first time, played with the elder players showing smiles.

On the first day, they got to measured in some physical portions like short dash, bounding and vertical jumps and distances of their kicks from both sides and throwing. After the physical measurements, they were divided into the Under-18 group and Under-12 group and played practical training under light rain.

In a meeting at night, all the members introduced themselves, speaking about their own strengths and what they wanted to achieve through this camp in front of them. They were scheduled to go through thorough trainings from the morning on the following day.

IJIMA Masaki,GK Coach(JFA National Training Centre Coach)
In terms of the Under-18 players whom I've been in charge since the last time, I had an impression that they've continued to do what they did in the last camp. Because they came in this camp having raised their level, it's easier for us to pursue more quality in them. Also, they teach things to those elementary school students who are participating in it for the first time off the pitch. Including how they should act during the camp, it's a good opportunity for them to be role models for those younger players. Even though we only have a short time, we hope them to bring back as many things as they can.

TAKAHASHI Tomoko(Albirex Niigata Ladies U-18)
Because I practiced on blocking, which I wasn't able to do in the last camp, back at my team, my goal is to be able to show that I've improved to do it better. And I want to work on the issues I've got through this time by practicing them. One of the things I'm good at is how to handle opponents' crosses, and now I would like to be able to have good passes that lead to better offence after dealing with crosses.

FUKUNAGA Erika(Cerezo Osaka Sakai Ladies)
One of my best plays is to stop shots and handling 1-on-1 situations. In 1-on-1s, I'm good at jumping at the ball, not afraid of the opponent. My goal in this camp is to challenge, not being scared of making mistakes, improving on the quality of instructing, which is my issue, and participating in the offence, and training taking care of every single play so I can get better in dealing with cross balls of the opponents.

ISHIDA Kokona(Mashiki Renaissance Kumamoto Football Club)
My goal in this camp is to listen well to the coaches and showcase my own plays in the remaining two days. My good point is that because I speak louder, I have an advantage to others in coaching .

ITAKURA Aya(FC Higashi)
Because it's not been long since I've begun playing football, I want to absorb everybody's plays as much as possible, and I want to do my best, thanking that I've had the fortunes to be here this time. As for my strength, I love running.
