Canon Girls Camp - 5-day training start
16 May 2015
The year’s first training for JFA Elite Program Women’s U-13 started on Friday15 May at J-GREEN Sakai. This camp changed its name to “Canon Girls Camp” as we receive support from Canon Inc. starting last year. Fifty seven players including 49 of FP (Field Player) and 9 goalkeepers selected from 9 regions participate in the training camp this year.
At the first day of the training, the first training session asked players to do trunk training and physical checkup following the opening. Two lectures were delivered in the night session.
The first lecture was on “the nutrition for women’s junior athlete” which was presented by KANEKO Kaori, National Registered Dietitian at Japan Sport Council. She explained the basic format of the athlete’s meal, key points, go and get water, taking supplementary food.
HIROSE Norikazu, Physical Coach of Nadeshiko Japan, gave them feedback on physical checkup, and explained the importance of trunk training in the second lecture.
As you can see, JFA Elite Program provides participants with contents some programs other than football in addition to training. The objective of the program is to help players become “Self-reliance player.”

TODOROKI Natsuko(JFA National Training Center Goalkeeper Coach)
Canon Girls Camp started today. I was bit nervous in the beginning but the players seemed to get to know each other right away and talking to teammates without effort. They proactively work on physical checkup and training program held following the opening.
As shared in the opening session ? we confirmed again of paying attention and taking challenge this Elite Program U-13’s rules: “Watch, feel and take actions”, “Pro-actively play not afraid of making mistake” no matter if you are on the pitch or off the pitch. I am determined to spend next five days with the players focusing on to make it productive camp.

KOMOTO Nanoha (Fujieda Junshin Soccer Club Junior Youth Blue)
I worked on training and game today. I was very glad the team I was in was the first place in points in the game practice. It was good and fun to play one-two, switch and other skillful play for scoring goal and assisting the in the game practice. I played in three different teams and it was hard as there was always someone I didn’t know in the team. But I called my teammates and led the team. Even in that situation, everyone in the team aggressively challenge the ball and call each other for uniting the team and that was why we managed to win the games regardless of the other side.
I want to contribute to get the team united by calling each other, displaying foot skill, passing through ball, etc. I am going to put the team together off the pitch and try not giving inconvenience to the team. I hope to take advantage of what I learned today. I will take good care of taking good meal, sleeping well for growing good body.
WATANABE Urara (JFA Academy Fukushima)
I want to develop myself both on-the-pitch and off-the-pitch through this JFA Elite Program. Focusing on day by day and I want to “make tomorrow better day than today”. I want to make friends with those in the same group or not by communicating my idea and feeling.
Having forgotten to look at time table of the first day training, I was not able to take next action easily. I will try to make sure what’s on the schedule. I think I didn’t play as challenging as I can and I want to play much aggressively from now on. And I want to aim for shooting and scoring goal. In addition to scoring the goal, I hope to become player who can contribute for the scoring goals and the victory.
MIYANO Hiyori (Vanraure Hachinohe FC U-15)
Going through today’s training program, I realized “there are so many better players out there.” Many of the players participating in this training are so skillful. I came to know “I need to improve much more.” It took me longer for moving to the accommodation after the training, and it was just in time to arrive for the dinner after taking shower. I believe everybody really get to know each other well, just in one day.
I attended the lecture after the dinner at the meeting room. Lady of Dietitian presented what is important about the nutrition for an athlete. This was the last thing I could imagine: An-pan (a beam-jam bun) and Mushi-pan (a stemed bun) were the breads you can make it main dish. There will be training on ball technique tomorrow and I want to stick to detail in the training.
