30 September 2019
The Japan Beach Soccer National Team showed their support for the Japanese Bid to host the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 during the Beach Soccer International Friendly Tournament that took place at Okura Beach Park in Hyogo, from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 September.
With the tournament being held in the weekend and with the help of great weather, lots of people attended the match venue during the three-day event. Throughout the tournament, the event organiser repeatedly made announcements regarding the Japanese Bid to host the FIFA Women’s World Cup, as they asked the spectators, “did you know that Japan is making a bid to host the FIFA Women’s World Cup?” and followed by mentioning, “let’s all make this happen and welcome the FIFA Women’s World Cup to Japan!”
This was the first ever international beach soccer tournament held in Japan, where the Japan Beach Soccer National Team faced the Tahiti Beach Soccer National Team and Spain Beach Soccer National Team on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29. During these two matches, the Japanese players wore jerseys with the official Bid logo printed on their left sleeves and held up a banner after the match to support the Japanese Bid to host the first ever Women’s World Cup in Japan.
Following the Japan Futsal National Team and the Japan Beach Soccer National Team, the Nadeshiko Japan (Japan Women’s National Team), U-22 Japan National Team, and the SAMURAI BLUE (Japan National Team) will also wear jerseys with the official Bid logo in their future matches.
