Japan Football Association (JFA) signed a renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Real Federación Española de Fútbol (RFEF) on １December 2022. JFA and RFEF have cooperated at various levels since the MoU was first signed in January 2010 and hope to further expand their partnership going forward.

The signing ceremony took place in Doha, Qatar and went in an amicable manner. Both parties discussed how various exchanges can be conducted through the renewal of the partnership this time and expressed high expectations for future initiatives.

The MoU ceremony was conducted in the presence of:

・Mr. Luis RUBIALES, President, RFEF
・Mr. Jorge MOWINCKEL, Director of International Relations, RFEF
・Mr. TASHIMA Kohzo, President, JFA
・Mr. MIYAMOTO Tsuneyasu, Executive Committee Member, JFA

The MoU between the RFEF and JFA aims to facilitate cooperation in the following areas:

・Coaching education
・Referee fitness
・Referee education
・Women’s football
・Friendly matches of National Teams
・Youth development programmes
・Sports science and sports medicine, including visits to sport medicine centres
・Competition organisation
・Marketing and media
・Exchange programs for technical personnel, administrative and management staff
・Sports facilities and equipment
・Sports centres and training camp opportunities
・Legal and regulatory matters
・Software development
・Strategic planning

Until today JFA has signed a MoU with the following football associations, confederation and club:
