Japan Beach Soccer National Team have light training in preparation for quarterfinal in Asian Beach Games

On 29 September, the Japan Beach Soccer National Team, who will be competing against the UAE in the quarterfinal of the Asian Beach Games, had light preparation sessions on the beach near their accommodation.

One night after the match against Afghanistan, the Japanese players started their training with jogging on the beach. Then, they moved on to core exercises to loosen their body.

After the warm-up, the teams were divided between field players and goalkeepers, and each group trained separately. Goalkeepers worked on catching and throwing exercises taking different steps and passing drills, while field players worked up a good sweat playing four-a-side foot volleyball game.

In the afternoon, the team had a meeting inside their hotel analysing their opponents (UAE) using video footage and discussed about the tactics for the tomorrow’s game.

The quarterfinal against the UAE Beach Soccer National Team will kick off at 14:30 (local time) on Thursday 29 September.

Players' Comments

FP #5 NAKAHARA Yuki (Aveldage Kumamoto BS)
We went through a recovery session in the morning today to take away tiredness from playing the match against China yesterday. We advanced to the quarterfinal as the top of the group, and we will be playing against the UAE tomorrow. We watched their video footage and we have a clear image of how to compete and win against them. In order to contribute to the victory of the team, I would like to make a good preparation for the match tomorrow. We are only aiming at winning the championship, and to achieve that goal we must win against the UAE.

FP #8 OBA Takaaki (Dorsole Kitakyushu)
Today, in preparation for the quarterfinal against the UAE tomorrow, we had light training session. We had a team meeting in the evening, while watching their video footage. With the coach leading the discussion and along with my teammates, we checked our tactics for tomorrow. Winning the group stage, we will be entering the knock-out stage of the tournament. Keeping high level of concentration, we will be facing the opponents as a untied team. We will win the match and advance to the semifinals.
