Japan Women’s Futsal squad hold second day of their training camp in Kanagawa
09 December 2016
On Thursday 8, Japan Women's Futsal National Team short-listed squad held the second day of their training camp in Kanagawa.
They started with a meeting where the yesterday’s training matches were discussed and checked upon the pros and cons of the current team. In the two-a-day practice sessions held in the morning and in the afternoon, the emphasis was put upon correcting the weaknesses found during the test matches yesterday. They worked on one-on-ones and tried to strengthen their physicality, while coach ITO Masanori gave specific instructions to the players. Every one worked hard and gave their best in today’s training.
Furthermore, the team’s athletic trainer, MATSUI Fumie, lectured on how to have an effective warm-up and cool down after training. They are looking to improve the conditioning and self-managing techniques (of their bodies) even after the camp.
Three-day camp will end tomorrow with a training session in the morning.
Players' Comments
YAMAMOTO Ayaka (SWH Ladies Futsal Club)
I am simply grateful that I was invited again to the national team. Goalkeeper is a special position, where the practice time in the club is limited. However, this camp is becoming a fruitful one as we can train for longer duration of time. I know my issues. In order to improve them, I need to keep my concentration in tomorrow’s training.
SAKATA Mutsumi (SWH Ladies Futsal Club)
We are having an excellent training camp as we proactively talk to each other and bring forth each other’s strengths on the court. We only have one more day remaining in the camp, but I will try to absorb as many things as possible, at the same time improving the team. I want to increase the number of successful plays, while finding the issues to take back to my club, by working hard and challenging every play in tomorrow’s training.
FUNATSUKI Hinako (Tokyo Fuchu Athletic F.C. Primeira)
In today’s practice, we worked on the issues found in yesterday’s training matches. We watched video footage to check upon those weaknesses which needed to be corrected. This allowed us to better understand the instructions and demands by our coach. As we share more ideas on the court, I am feeling more comfortable playing together with my teammates. To have a more productive training session tomorrow, I will prepare myself to give my best.
