Coach and Players' Comments

UCHIYAMA Atsushi, Coach
In this opportunity, we wanted not only to train squad members but also to do something for the people who had been affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, understanding how they are through playing football together. This is why we decided to have the camp in Ishinomaki. In fact, both players and staff could learn a lot from the lecture for the local coaches, the event with the local kids, and the visit to the tsunami affected area.

I think both of them have things that they learned during this training camp. One of the things that we should do as a football squad team is to show our gratitude to everybody who has supported this camp by winning in Asia and the world. First of all, we will do our best to make the good result in the AFC U-19 Championship in October. I would like to express my appreciation to all who supported this training camp. Thank you so much.

OGAWA Koki (Jubilo Iwata)
In this camp we visited the tsunami affected area and had chance to listen to the people that lived there. We also had a good time playing with local junior high school students in this opportunity. It was the camp that I could learn a lot of things. I now feel how much happy I am to enjoy football. Regarding the match it was good that we could score a lot, but there are some issues such as combination and coaching on the pitch so we will keep working hard to improve the issues to make the team better.

IWATA Tomoki (Oita Trinita)
In this camp I visited the tsunami affected area and talked with the local people for the first time. This experience made me think various things. In the training match we could have done more things that we had learned in the past three days. As a player I found many issues so I will continue to work hard to sort out.

SUGIMORI Koki (Nagoya Grampus)
Today's training match, we played with sense of aim in both offense and defense, but there were many issues found in the end. I will work hard, improving the issues so I can be called up again. In this opportunity we could visit the tsunami affected area in Ishinomaki and that made me realise how much I am blessed that I can play football in a good environment; now I want to pour all of my passion in to football.

KOGA Taiyo (Kashiwa Reysol U-18)
This is my first opportunity to join the U-19 squad. We had only 3 days but I have been inspired a lot by the top level players of U-19. I also had my first experience to visit the tsunami affected area and that made me understand even stronger that I live in such a blessed environment. I will keep working hard to grow up to be a better player reflecting on what I have learned during this camp.
