Japan Women's Futsal National Team short-listed squad’s July domestic training camp report (7/18)

19 July 2015

Japan Women's Futsal National Team short-listed squad’s July domestic training camp report (7/18)

Japan Women's Futsal National Team short-listed squad participated in the third day of their training camp.

In the morning, the players did some warm-ups, followed by four-on-two “rondo”, moving around the pitch. Then they were divided into groups of three players and practiced movements from passing around to taking shots on a half-length pitch.

In the end, they used a two-thirds-length pitch, and did some four-on-four with a free player and some three-on-three with a free player, focusing on practicing their attack.

In the afternoon, the players focused on defence, practicing how to react when they have a numerical advantage. They finished their session with a mini game for tomorrow’s match.

Players' Comments

KICHIBAYASHI Chikage (VEEX TOKYO Ladies)
We got ourselves ready enough through the practice sessions in the morning and in the afternoon, in preparation for tomorrow’s friendly against a Catalonia select team from Spain. We focused on our tasks, which we found in the match against the Hyogo select team the other day, and also checked our defensive concept.

As we’ve been spending three days together so far on this camp, we can gradually coordinate better and there is a good atmosphere around.

Tomorrow’s game is vital as a preparation for the coming the AFC Futsal Championship in September. So I’d like to do my best as a team, not to mention as an individual.

TAKAO Akari (Maruoka RUCK Ladies)
First, I was really nervous, as it’s been a while since I last joined the national team. However, I got used to the atmosphere gradually and started enjoying the futsal a lot. I’ll do my best in tomorrow’s game, so that I can show our teamwork and what we learned in the past three days. Personally, I’d like to display my strengths whenever I’m on the pitch.

SEKINADA Minako (arco-iris KOBE)
As I couldn’t score from my opportunity in yesterday’s game, I focused on decision-making in front of the goal in today’s practice session. I’d like to show what I’ve learned today in tomorrow’s match.

YAMAMOTO Ayaka (LETIZIA)
While the team were practicing in the morning, focusing on the attack, the goalkeepers practiced stopping shots and reacting to the second ball. So I did hold a good session, thinking of the coming games tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

In the afternoon, we focused on defence, checking how to react effectively when we have a numerical advantage. They also watched some video between training sessions to put in practice what they learned. I’d like to prepare myself, so that I can show what we practiced today in the match against Catalonia.
