Japan Beach Soccer National Team short-listed squad in Hyogo Camp (6/13)

The Japan Beach Soccer National Team short-listed squad began a training camp at Okura-kaigan in Akashi, Hyogo.

The squad assembled at hotel on Sunday 12 night and started two-a-day training on the following day.

Before the morning session, they had a meeting in which coach Marcelo MENDES said "this camp also serves as a selection for September's Asian Beach Games," to brace the team up ahead of the kick-off session.

The Japan boss kept up his energy instructing the squad, starting from the morning session. With an image of real match situations, the Mendes' men spent time for build-up moves to finish with a shot and went through combinations as well as tried to improve skills that enable them to actually incorporate such moves.

In the afternoon, the squad kept reviewing combinations with enthusiastic words from their coach and players at times as well as smiles for good plays. The training of the day ended with various types of shooting drills.

At a meeting after dinner, team doctor YANAGISAWA gave a lecture on doping. A doping test will take place in the Asian Beach Games, where the Japan Beach Soccer National Team will participate this September. Before going out as Japanese internationals, they reviewed knowledge and preparation about the illegal activity.

Players' Comments

SATO Eisuke (Tokyo Lequios BS)
This is my first time joining the national team camp and I was a bit tensed. But thanks to veterans, I was able to work on training without trouble. National team players all got skills and I appreciate I was given an opportunity to train in such a high-level environment. I will try to make each day productive to understand what our coach thinks and display it on the pitch. Finally, I want to express my gratitude to my own team and co-workers, who allowed me to join this camp.

HARAGUCHI Shotaro (Inter Japan BS)
It's been about five months since the complete tear of my Achilles tendon. I appreciate the fact that I can be here to take part in the camp. For many people who supported me since I got injured and for myself, I will do my best to play my game as a Japanese international.

GOTO Takasuke (Fusion)
The squad got together for this camp to get the world championship. I will work on it with responsibility and awareness to represent the country. On the first day, a number of players looked tense and were not showing their regular performances. We don't have such time. Every second is precious. We need to pursue details and communicate well to make it productive. I never want to have a bitter experience like the last World Cup again, so I will tell everyone what I want to and make the team better.
