Japan Beach Soccer National Team short-listed squad in Hyogo Camp (6/14)

The Japan Beach Soccer National Team short-listed squad had a training session twice a day on their second day of the camp just as they did on the previous day.

In the morning session, the squad repeated sprint drills whose distance was initially short and gradually got extended in order to improve their fitness. Then, they went through how to break through defence with a various types of attacking options that are initiated by a goalkeeper.

The afternoon session had a 90-minute 5-on-5 game after warm-up.

Coach Marcelo halted plays at times and gathered all the players to deliberately check out his tactics. With the Japan coach sometimes asking his players for their feedback, the training went on with active communication.

The players were apparently tired but worked out in a good mood, insisting on what they wanted and giving each other praises for aggressive plays.

Players' Comments

KAWAI Yusuke (Sol Mar Praia)
This is my first national team camp and I was tense on the first day. But I'm full of gratitude to be given an opportunity to train in a good feeling of tension along with the team including our coach, these players and staff members. There are not many days left, so I want to understand our coach's tactics as early as possible and try to keep the role of my position in my mind while playing. And then, I will try to take on new challenges.

AKAGUMA Takuya (Dorsole Kitakyushu)
This camp is important ahead of the Asian Beach Games. Offence and defence tactics are our main focus, and we will improve quality of play together and strive toward a greater perfection. I've been called up to the national team many times, so I want to showcase my strength to help my team out. First I will take one day at a time to help my team win the Asian Beach Games.

NAKAHARA Yuki (Aveldage Kumamoto BS)
This is my second time joining the national team camp and I'm thankful to play with great players. We are expected to show consistent concentration in this tactic-focused camp, and I'm working out with a good level of tension. To be selected to the squad for the Asian Beach Games, I will try to bring out what I've got over the final two days.
