Japan Beach Soccer National Team short-listed squad in Hyogo Camp (6/16)
17 June 2016
The Japan Beach Soccer National Team short-listed squad had their last day of the camp in Hyogo.
Despite the rain and fatigue, both the coach Marcelo and the players remained focused in the training session to finish their camp.
In their last session, the players started by going through set pieces. They repeatedly practiced several patterns of corner kicks, which they had used in actual games, in order for the team to get used to the movements.
Then they moved onto a practice match to improve the quality of the tactics, which they had been practicing in this training camp.
At the end, the coach Marcelo told the players: ‘we have practiced many tactics during this camp. However, there is still room for improvement in techniques. I hope you will stay motivated as you have been in this camp back at your club, practicing hard everyday.’
Coach and Players' Comments
Marcelo MENDES, Coach
This training camp in Akashi has been very productive. We have been focusing on tactics everyday, so that we have variations both in attack and defence against different opponents. It was crucial that I could see the performance of three new players, with whom I’m very satisfied. It was also great to find out that the players have improved since the last trip in Brazil by practicing hard. I am grateful to all the players and staff, who supported this trip.
MOREIRA Ozu (Fusion)
It was excellent that we could practice our new tactics during this camp. Now that we have finished our Hyogo training camp, we’re going to be busier with lots of important championships. I’d like to keep myself in good condition, so that I can perform well in the coming tournaments. Our first aim is to get a good result in the Asian Beach Games.
NISHIGUCHI Keisuke (Aveldage Kumamoto BS)
It was my second training camp for the national team. I learned what I needed to improve by practicing with other high-level players. During this four-day camp, although we focused on tactics, I realised there are some technical gaps between the team and me in some specific areas, such as trapping and passing. I’d like to raise the level of these skills, especially my particular strength – shots with my left foot - before I join the national team again.
