Mr. GU Jianming, President, Chengdu Football Association
It is our pleasure to welcome the three Japanese coaches to Chengdu Football Association (CDFA). We have a long history of international exchange in the field of youth football development and technical education, including sending school directors, coaches and teams to Japan, and receiving Japanese attendees and experts in various events and conferences in Chengdu. I also want to emphasise the importance of this collaboration project between JFA and CDFA. CDFA is always trying to find better ways to improve its youth football quality. People in both China and Japan are looking forward to the outcome of the project. I also believe that with the hard work and close communication of both sides, we will bring success to the collaboration. As my friend and counterpart in JFA, President Mr. TASHIMA told me once, Football in East Asia will unite and improve together, and challenge the best teams in the world.

In light of the current pandemic, we faced many logistical challenges before finally arriving at Chengdu Football Association. Going forward, I am determined to give my utmost effort to assist the further development of Chengdu FA through my passion and positivity as a football coach. I am also looking forward to learning more about the local history, culture and football, and hope to look into how I can personally contribute to the betterment of football in Chengdu. I will also cater to the needs of Chengdu FA, and hope to work together and explore ways in how the global standard can be incorporated and customized into local football. Furthermore, I will do my best to communicate effectively with my colleagues and players, and will focus on my realistic approach in coaching football.

As a member of Chengdu FA, I would like to fully commit to my responsibilities and will strive to provide support for the association’s further development. Furthermore, I am determined to give my utmost effort to work collaboratively with everyone at Chengdu FA by gaining a better understanding of its environment and cultural background.
OKU Takeshi, U-12 Technical Director, Chengdu Football Association Youth Academy
In assuming my new role at Chengdu Football Association, I am determined to communicate effectively not only with the two other Japanese coaches dispatched from JFA, but also with all the coaches, players and staff at Chengdu Football Association. I will do my best to take part in the further development of youth football by catering to the needs of Chengdu FA Youth Academy. I also feel a debt of gratitude to everyone at JFA as well as to the Japanese coaches before me who have been dispatched to Asian countries to date – I wish to hold on to this sense of gratitude and will serve in my new role with integrity.
