JFA reveals official logo and 2020 slogan of JFA Women's Football Day
10 February 2020
Ahead of the "Women's Football Day" on 8 March, Japan Football Association (JFA) revealed its official logo and 2020 slogan, "Let's become the fairest country in the world."
Through its Nadeshiko Vision, JFA has strived to “make football a popular sport for women” and to “construct a society where women can shine.” As part of their efforts to realise the Nadeshiko Vision, JFA has determined to make 8 March, "Women's Football Day" (approved by JFA Executive Committee on Thursday, 16 May 2019), in collaboration with the “International Women's Day” established by the United Nations. With 2020 being the inaugural year for the Women’s Football Day, along with the official logo and slogan, JFA has announced the following events to promote and further develop women’s football in Japan.
Logo
Inspired by foreign customs of giving mimosa flowers on International Women's Day, the logo was designed based on the mimosa flower, which represents love and happiness. With hopes to make 8 March a day where all women involved in football can be radiant, the polka-dot patterns of yellow mimosa flowers were used to portray the graceful and eloquent movements of women thriving in the field of football.
2020 Slogan
"Let's become the fairest country in the world"
As one of the qualities listed in the “JFA Values,” the slogan was constructed based on the value of “Fairness” and with the determination to spread a society where everyone can strive to challenge their dreams. We hope to showcase our world-renowned spirit of fair-play to construct an environment where all people, regardless of their gender, age, race, whether they are with or without disabilities, can enjoy the sport of football.
