Japan squad arrive in Phuket, get ready for Asian Beach Games opener
15 November 2014
After wrapping up their training in Dubai, Japan National Beach Soccer Team arrived in the host city Phuket, Thailand for the finale of this year’s campaign, the Asian Beach Games.
On the following morning in the short 45-minute training, the squad went through warm-up at first, then shooting drills and dashing drills in the end in preparation for the opening match.
Due to two teams withdrawing from the tournament, a drawing was carried out once again at the Match Coordination Meeting of the Asian Games Committee, which was held while Japan’s training was in session. Then, Japan, originally scheduled to play its opening on 15th, had it altered. The Group D seed Japan will play against Malaysia on 16th and the United Arab on 18th.
Unlike the hot and dry Dubai climate, the hot and humid Southeast Asian unique climate is hard to get used to, so it could be positive in the sense that there will be more time for players to tune up.
Beginning at the Intercontinental Cup, the Beach Soccer squad are stepping into the last part of their long campaign. Japan will take on Malaysia in their opener with the eyes to finish up the year 2014 with the Asian title.
